It was MyDavidCameron that lead to a Hung Parliament?

I have to be honest when I first started to see the MyDavidCameron Posters I thought, “great but the only people who are going to see these are going to be bloggers and people who are interested in politics on the internet not the swing voters in marginals that count.” Which seams to be the Belief that some conservatives are clinging to.

However there has been a couple of factors recently that have made me wonder if MyDavidCameron has really had a big impact on the polls.

Firstly there has been the appearance of several of the spoofs on different TV programs such as the politics show and Russel Howards Good News. This immediately means that they are now not only in the domain of Political bloggers but also into the general public sphere. In fact their impact could even be greater than the normal posters as people who are turned of by something explicitly political might pay more attention to the spoof if it is on a topical tv show.

The second has been that since these spoofs have emerged their has been a negative trend in the polls. I’m not saying that this is only due to the posters, I think Tories actually announcing Policy and the very poor quality of the first poster are good enough reasons on their own, However it is interesting that considering the “popularity” of Labour, these Spoof posters are much more popular!

P.S. I have noticed that there have been several spoofs of the Labour Pledge card but for some reason these haven’t taken of in the same way, maybe we Libs and Conservatives just aren’t as good at Photoshop.
